Data Engineering Lead
Summary
Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and scientists building scalable data architectures and automation pipelines for a banking-focused business. Day to day involves architecting data platforms and BI/analytics solutions using Azure services such as Data Lake, Data Factory, PySpark, Synapse, and Power BI.
As Data Engineering Lead, you mentor a skilled team to develop data-driven solutions that simplify banking while enabling commercial success and maintaining security. You work in autonomous, cross-functional squads tackling business-critical platforms. You will shape scalable data architectures and automation pipelines to deliver insights and value across the organization. This role offers the chance to influence data strategy and partner with stakeholders to drive secure, data-informed decisions.
Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and scientists
- Deliver automation data pipelines and build scalable data architecture
- Architect data platforms, BI, MI, or analytics solutions
- Work in autonomous, cross-functional teams on business-critical platforms
- Collaborate to enable data-driven decision making and insights
- Leverage Azure data services to implement data lake, data factory solutions
- Agile methodology experience with familiarity in Azure DevOps
- Deep automation knowledge with Python
- Proficiency in PySpark and Synapse
- Data modelling and visualization experience (Power BI or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of architecting data platforms, BI/MI/analytics solutions
- Experience with Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory
