Summary
Lead Citi's Enterprise Data team in Belfast, driving the migration to Databricks and building scalable Spark/Scala data services on AWS, including AI/GenAI-enabled platforms. Day to day you design and deliver cloud data architecture, mentor developers, and manage senior stakeholders and compliance.
As part of Citi’s Enterprise Data team, you will lead cloud-native data service engineering to migrate to Databricks and deliver scalable Spark/Scala solutions on AWS. You’ll shape AI-enabled data platforms, optimize performance, and ensure secure, resilient systems. You work closely with cross-functional partners to drive cloud transformation and data capabilities at scale. This role offers mentorship, hands-on leadership, and impact across the firm’s strategic data platform.

- Lead design, engineering and delivery of cloud data services supporting data pre-processing, matching engines, AI/GenAI services and large-scale platforms
- Drive Databricks/AWS-based data solutions across GRU tech space with scalable architecture
- Develop methodologies and standards for analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and implementation
- Consult with end users to translate system functions into design
- Allocate work and mentor developers, analysts and new team members
- Influence senior leaders and external stakeholders; negotiate and communicate effectively
- Assess risk and ensure compliance with laws, regulations and Citi policies
- Ensure platform stability, performance, security and AI enablement
- Databricks Lakehouse, Spark, Delta Lake, workflows, performance tuning
- Apache Spark & Scala for high-performance distributed processing
- Cloud Data Engineering on AWS and cloud-native data platforms
- Data Services Architecture & Engineering including streaming and scalable services
- Engineering Architecture & Technical Delivery including CI/CD and governance
- Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
- Subject Matter Expert in Applications Development and knowledge of core business functions
