You shape the BigQuery warehouse, dbt transformations, and semantic layer, while guiding ingestion, orchestration, and governance. This role blends hands‑on coding with strategic direction to advance near‑real‑time data and dashboards‑as‑code. You partner with stakeholders to translate priorities into a data roadmap and drive AI‑enabled data practices. Retribuzione / Benefits
  • Lead and grow the Data Engineering team (1–2 engineers) with ownership of delivery and career development
  • Evolve WeRoad's data architecture: BigQuery warehouse, dbt layer, and semantic metrics layer
  • Own ingestion and orchestration stack (Airflow, dlt) and ensure reliability, quality, and observability of pipelines
  • Manage self‑service BI and reporting toolkit (Tableau, Metabase, Lightdash; dashboards‑as‑code)
  • Establish and maintain data governance (quality, lineage, documentation, PII, access controls, self‑service standards)
  • Drive AI across the team and in data pipelines, promoting adoption as standard practice
  • Collaborate with Director of Data Engineering & AI, Data & BI, Product, and stakeholders to shape the data roadmap
Responsabilità
  • 5+ years in data/analytics engineering in fast-growing product companies with cloud data warehouses and pipelines (BigQuery / GCP a strong plus)
  • Experience as a manager mentoring engineers in a small, senior team
  • Strong SQL and hands‑on expertise with dbt, modern ELT/ingestion (dlt or similar), and Airflow
  • Experience with BI and dashboards (Tableau, Metabase, xysqume Lightdash) and building a semantic layer
  • Track record in data governance (quality, lineage, documentation, PII, access management, self‑service)
  • Experience with AI‑assisted engineering and AI in data pipelines, and driving adoption
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent English; comfortable in a fast‑paced, multi‑market, remote‑first environment
