The Role
- Own the end-to-end data platform, including ingestion pipelines, data modelling and warehouse orchestration
- Lead and develop a team of analytics and data engineers, setting standards and supporting growth
- Drive automation across data workflows to improve scalability and efficiency
- Ensure high data quality through monitoring, testing and robust data contracts
- Design and govern a semantic layer to ensure consistent metric definitions
- Optimise warehouse performance and manage cost efficiency at scale
- Establish engineering best practices including CI/CD, version control and code quality standards
- Partner with stakeholders across analytics, product and leadership to align on data strategy and delivery
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong experience leading data or analytics engineering teams in a complex environment
- Deep expertise in data warehousing, data modelling and large-scale data processing
- Proven experience with ELT and ETL pipelines and orchestration tools such as Airflow and dbt
- Experience working with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or GCP
- Strong understanding of data quality, observability and monitoring practices
- Experience driving cost optimisation within cloud data environments
- Confident communicator, able to translate technical concepts to senior stakeholders
- Track record of balancing leadership, delivery and hands-on technical contribution
