Data Engineering Manager/Microsoft Fabric

Summary

Lead and grow a data engineering team while owning the roadmap and delivery of a Microsoft Fabric-based data platform, overseeing data pipelines, governance, and DevOps practices.

Data Engineering Manager is required by a large organisation to lead the design, delivery, and operation of a Microsoft Fabric-based data platform supporting BI, analytics, AI/ML and other data initiatives across the organisation.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of data engineers.
  • Owning the roadmap for Fabric-based data platform.
  • Managing delivery of data engineering projects and platform improvements against agreed quality, timescales, and business needs.
  • Overseeing the design, build, testing, deployment, and maintenance of data pipelines and data integrations.
  • Ensuring successful delivery of data assets.
  • Ensuring platform availability, performance and reliability.
  • Embedding data quality, security, and governance controls throughout the data platform.
  • Building strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders, and managing third-party/supplier relationships
  • Establishing engineering standards and driving CI/CD, DevOps, and automation practices.

Required Experience:

  • Significant experience in data engineering/platform roles, with a proven track record delivering complex data platform solutions.
  • Experience leading or managing technical engineering teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • SQL, Python, and data modelling skills.
  • CI/CD, Git, and DevOps/infrastructure-as-code experience.
