Data Engineering Team Leader
Summary
Lead data governance and stewardship for a bank’s division, representing business needs in executive committees and ensuring compliance with enterprise data policies and standards.
Play the role of data ownership on behalf of the business (this include representing the voice of the business division in the executive governance committee).
Ensure data stewardship provided is following the enterprise data management asset model and lead the data initiatives at divisional level and represent the bank business divisions.
Understand the business division strategies and participate in bank data related strategies, e.g. enterprise data as assets strategy and information management strategy.
Play the role of liaison between business areas and the other data management sections.
Ensure policies and standards are effectively implemented for data sources related to the assigned division.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Assist the development and execution of the Data Stewardship policies, procedures and controls for all sources of the data.
Day- to-day operations
- Perform the day-to-day activities and ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures
Senior Data
- Manage the data stewardship at divisional level and provide a single contact point to business of that division for their data.
- Liaise with business areas to ensure their interests and requirements are considered.
- Represents assigned business area for matters related to data, e.g. data requirements, data provisions.
- Represents business units in the Enterprise Data Governance Committee
- Promote standards and consistent view of business data.
Transfer of Knowledge and Communication
- Educate the Business Unit about the importance of Data & Information in driving the business
- Supervise relationships with data consumers.
- Direct & guide the subordinates on how to play the role of Enterprise Data Steward on all levels
Leadership
- Manages the effective achievement of Enterprise Data Steward Unit objectives through the leadership of the Enterprise Data Steward Unit – setting individual objectives, recruiting qualified staff, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximize subordinate and division performance
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management System or Computer Sciencewith preferably Master degree in MIS
- 6-8 years relevant experience in Data & Information Management in banking responsibilities

- Understanding of the bank’s strategy, objectives
- Ability to effectively present information to top management
- In depth project management knowledge
- In depth knowledge of the bank’s regulations
