Description

We have an exciting opportunity for you to enhance your career by innovative banking solutions.

As a Data Governance Associate within the Chief Data Office (CDO) Data Catalog Governance team, you are responsible for promoting streamlining and automation initiatives—including the adoption of AI/GenAI—across Data Governance functions, improving process efficiency, standardization, and governance outcomes. You support Consumer & Community Banking lines of business, product teams, and functional partners by delivering catalog reporting and insights that enable effective metadata change management, workflow oversight, and data quality monitoring. You help shape and implement data governance strategies, promoting adoption of standards, processes, and frameworks across business domains. You align lineage practices with data governance, risk, control, and regulatory requirements, contributing to the evolution of lineage maturity models and success metrics. You work closely with technology and product teams to identify and remediate data lineage gaps in the Data Catalog and partner with Data Quality and Controls teams to map critical controls to data flows.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver DG automation solutions: Identify manual and repetitive DG processes and implement automation/streamlining opportunities across functions (metadata, DQ, privacy, access, AI governance, risk).
  • Drive AI/GenAI adoption across DG: Partner with DG stakeholders to define use cases, develop proofs of concept, and scale AI/GenAI-enabled solutions that improve governance workflows.
  • Requirements gathering & process re-engineering: Facilitate workshops with business and functional partners to document current-state processes, pain points, and future-state designs.
  • Solution coordination & rollout: Coordinate implementation plans, change management, training, and communications to ensure adoption across multiple DG functions and teams.
  • Governance and controls alignment: Ensure automation solutions align with internal governance requirements (risk, privacy, access, auditability, model/AI governance expectations where applicable).
  • Stakeholder management: Act as a key point of contact across CCB Lines of Business, Products, and Functional Areas for DG automation initiatives; track progress and manage dependencies.
  • Measurement & continuous improvement: Define KPIs (cycle time reduction, automation rate, data quality improvements, adoption metrics), monitor results, and iteratively enhance solutions.
  • Documentation and standards: Maintain documentation for workflows, operating procedures, controls, and solution playbooks to support consistent execution and scalability.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s / Master degree in Business, Data Management, Data Science, MIS, Statistics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, process optimization, or automation in a regulated/controlled environment
  • Strong understanding of key data governance concepts such as metadata management/data catalog, data quality, data privacy, data access management, and data risk.
  • Exposure to AI/GenAI concepts and practical applications for workflow automation (use case identification, prompt/workflow design, or AI-enabled tooling).
  • Proven ability to translate business problems into requirements, drive execution, manage milestones, and coordinate delivery across multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to evaluate processes, assess risk/control considerations, define success metrics, and use data to guide decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and drive adoption across diverse business and functional partners.
  • Ability to produce clear process maps, SOPs, governance artifacts, and user guidance.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of consumer banking products and systems, and understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with JPMC Technology teams in analyst, risk, or technical roles.
