Job Summary
Sia seeks a Senior Consultant / Manager to lead data governance engagements in Singapore, helping clients in regulated industries establish trusted data foundations for decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data governance frameworks, operating models, and policies to establish clear data ownership, stewardship, quality management, metadata, lineage, and master/reference data management
- Translate governance frameworks into practical, adoptable operating models tailored to clients’ data maturity levels
- Diagnose data quality, integrity, and control gaps by collaborating with client stakeholders and subject matter experts, and develop remediation roadmaps and technology enablement plans involving data catalogs, lineage tools, and quality platforms
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders including CDOs, heads of risk and compliance, and technology leaders, managing workstream delivery, timelines, and quality
- Represent Sia in client steering committees and governance forums to influence data governance strategy and execution
- Mentor and develop junior consultants, contribute to internal methodologies, accelerators, and thought leadership, and support recruitment and capability building within the data governance practice
- Structure ambiguous problems, produce client-ready deliverables, and manage multiple workstreams effectively
- Communicate complex data governance concepts clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- 6 to 10+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or related advisory roles, preferably including consulting and exposure to financial services, insurance, or regulated industries
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, engineering, or related fields; advanced degree is advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of data governance frameworks and concepts, including data stewardship, data quality management, metadata management, data lineage, and master/reference data management
- Hands-on or advisory experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Ataccama, or Talend
- Familiarity with Singapore and regional data protection and governance regulations such as PDPA and MAS guidelines is advantageous
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring junior team members and contributing to business development activities
- Fluency in English to effectively communicate with clients and internal teams
