The Job

1. Job Purpose:

• Leads the Data Management & Governance function and builds the enterprise framework of standards, controls and stewardship, so that data at MB Life is trusted, well-defined, secure and compliant.

2. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Data Governance framework, policies and standards: define the governance operating model and roadmap, and drive adoption of data policies across business units in line with data protection and insurance regulations.
• Oversee master data, data quality and metadata management across key domains (customer, policy, agent, claims), including quality rules and monitoring, business glossary, data catalog and lineage.
• Enforce governance standards and critical data element (CDE) controls: register CDEs with clear owners and control points, embed governance into data projects and support audits and regulatory inspections.
• Guide data owners and stewards and coordinate governance working groups to resolve data issues, agree on definitions and build a data culture through training and awareness.
• Report governance roll-out and data quality status to the line manager and management committees through governance KPIs and dashboards, escalating material data risks with remediation plans.

Your Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Economics/Finance or a related field.
• 10+ years in data governance / data management, including team or program leadership; insurance, banking or financial services experience is an advantage.
• DAMA CDMP or an equivalent data governance certification is preferred (e.g. DCAM, governance tool certifications).
