Adecco is hiring a Data Governance Specialist on behalf of a leading financial regulator in Hong Kong. The role drives organisation-wide data governance initiatives — framework implementation, metadata management, data classification/tagging, data quality, and privacy/security compliance — using SQL, Python, and data governance platforms.
Our client is a leading financial regulator in Hong Kong, they are looking for a Data Governance Specialist for driving data governance initiatives for their institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as a core support member of the Data Governance team to drive organisation-wide data governance initiatives.
- Support the implementation and continuous refinement of the organisation-wide Data
- Governance Framework, standards, and controls, particularly for unstructured data management.
- Assist in the design and optimisation of tools and technology for implementing data governance, including metadata management, data access workflow, auto-classification and tagging, and data quality management.
- Support the adoption of unstructured data governance practices, including establishing ontology and managing taxonomy, and driving organisation-wide data tagging to enhance discoverability and AI readiness.
- Support data privacy, data protection, and data security compliance initiatives in alignment with regulatory and internal requirements.
- Monitor governance effectiveness and recommend continuous improvements.
REQUIREMENT:
- 3+ years of experience in data management and data governance, preferably within Technology, Banking or Financial Services.
- Solid experience in data governance and data management disciplines, including metadata management, data classification and tagging, data privacy and data protection, data security and access controls, data quality management, etc.
- Hands-on experience with data governance tools and platforms (e.g., data catalogue, data lineage, data quality tools), and the ability to leverage them to operationalise Data Governance Framework.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, profiling, and analysis
- Working knowledge of Python for data processing, automation, text mining, and basic machine learning
- Understanding of data governance foundation required for AI readiness is a plus.
