Data Integration Analyst

NewBe an early applicant

Summary

Data Integration Analyst at law firm Akin in Seattle who plans and executes data migrations and system conversions, builds ETL processes, and writes advanced SQL to map, cleanse, validate, and reconcile data between legacy and new systems. Hybrid role, time-limited through June 2027.

Turn complex data into reliable information that helps our organization do its best work.

Akin is looking for an experienced Data Integration Analyst who enjoys solving complex data challenges, digging into the details, and making sure information moves accurately and reliably between systems.

This is a time-limited position that is currently budgeted through June 2027.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in system implementations, upgrades, and data migration projects across the organization. You’ll work with legacy and new systems to map, cleanse, transform, migrate, reconcile, and validate data—helping ensure that the information our teams rely on is complete, accurate, and ready to use.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is highly analytical, technically skilled, and energized by solving data problems. If you enjoy figuring out why numbers don’t match, building SQL queries to get to the root of an issue, and creating repeatable processes that make data more trustworthy, we’d love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As our Data Integration Analyst, you’ll be a key resource for data conversion and analysis projects. Your work will include:

  • Planning and executing data migrations and conversions for new systems, system upgrades, and platform consolidations.
  • Analyzing legacy systems and developing clear source-to-target data mappings.
  • Building and running ETL processes to extract, cleanse, transform, and load data between systems.
  • Writing and optimizing SQL queries and scripts for complex data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Performing pre- and post-conversion validation to ensure data is complete, accurate, and ready for use.
  • Investigating discrepancies, failed reconciliations, integration issues, and other data challenges to identify root causes and solutions.
  • Profiling data to uncover anomalies, gaps, trends, and potential quality risks before and during migrations.
  • Developing monitoring, exception, reconciliation, and conversion-status reports to identify issues early.
  • Supporting user acceptance testing and post-go-live data validation.
  • Creating thorough technical documentation, including data mappings, transformation logic, procedures, specifications, and runbooks.
  • Partnering with technical teams, project managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and successfully deliver data conversion projects.
  • Collaborating with Akin’s data and technology professionals to ensure converted data meets established quality and governance standards and is ready for downstream reporting and analysis.

What You'll Bring:

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data conversion, migration, ETL, or data analysis.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, including experience writing and optimizing complex queries, joins, and scripts across multiple systems.
  • Experience with data mapping, reconciliation, validation, and migration between legacy and target systems.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups.
  • Working knowledge of data dictionaries, metadata, and field-level documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when investigating data discrepancies or quality concerns.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to documenting processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain data findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and data projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

We’d be especially excited to hear from candidates who also bring experience with:

  • ETL tools such as SSIS, Talend, Informatica, or similar platforms.
  • Scripting or programming languages used for data work, such as Python, PowerShell, or R.
  • System implementations or migrations involving platforms such as CRM or EHR systems.
  • Data governance, data quality, data cataloging, or metadata management practices.
  • Building monitoring, exception, or reconciliation reports.
  • BI and visualization tools such as Power BI or Crystal Reports.

Why This Role Matters:

As Akin continues to strengthen and connect the systems that support our work, this position will help ensure that critical organizational data moves accurately from one system to another and remains reliable throughout the process.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across teams, solve meaningful technical challenges, and build processes that improve how Akin manages and uses data across the organization.

If you’re someone who enjoys getting into the details, solving complicated data puzzles, and leaving systems and processes better than you found them, we encourage you to apply.

Hybrid Work Arrangements:

Akin supports a flexible workplace, and hybrid work may be available depending on the needs of the position and team. Hybrid arrangements may be adjusted based on business needs.

Compensation and Benefits:
