Data Loss Prevention Security Engineer

Summary

Engineer and maintain Microsoft Purview and DLP policies to protect sensitive data across Microsoft 365 and endpoints, using Defender XDR and Sentinel for incident response.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain Microsoft Purview, DLP, Information Protection, and compliance policies
  • Develop and tune DLP rules for endpoints to manage data flow
  • Manage sensitivity labels, mandatory encryption, and content marking across Microsoft 365
  • Investigate and respond to DLP incidents using Defender XDR and Sentinel
  • Maintain DLP dashboards and reporting to track violations and policy effectiveness
  • Serve as technical liaison for enterprise data protection initiatives involving Purview, Zscaler, and Qualys
  • Document DLP processes, SOPs, and configuration baselines in Jira/Confluence

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in information security
  • 2+ years of experience focused on data protection and DLP engineering
  • Microsoft Certified Information Protection Administrator Associate (SC-400) or Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
  • Hands‑on expertise in Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 E5 Security, Defender for Endpoint, and Entra ID
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001, and HIPAA
  • Experience with KQL queries and Microsoft Sentinel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Zscaler and Qualys
