Data Migration (Data Architect)

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of database administration or database engineering experience, including production ownership of relational databases at scale.

• 3+ years leading or heavily contributing to database migration projects, ideally on-premises to cloud (AWS and/or Azure).

• Deep hands-on experience with at least one major RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and working familiarity with others.

• Experience with cloud database migration tooling (AWS DMS, AWS SCT, Azure Database Migration Service, or equivalent) and cloud-native database services (RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, etc.).

• Strong SQL skills and experience with schema conversion, data validation/reconciliation, and performance tuning pre- and post-migration.

• Experience planning low-downtime or near-zero-downtime cutovers (CDC/replication-based migration approaches).

• Track record of leading technical work streams or small teams, including setting technical direction and reviewing others' work.

• Clear communicator, comfortable presenting migration plans, risks, and status to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
