Data Migration Technical Lead | Hybrid

Open 15d

Summary

Lead end-to-end data migration projects, designing ETL pipelines, writing SQL and Python scripts, and collaborating with clients to ensure smooth data transfers from legacy systems.

The role:

We are looking for a hands-on Data Migration Technical Lead to join our team. You will take ownership of complex, high-volume data migration programmes from inception through to go-live. You will work directly with clients to gather

requirements, design source-to-target mappings, build and execute migration pipelines, and drive quality outcomes across every stage of delivery.

This is a dual-facing position: you will be a trusted technical authority in client rooms and a practitioner who rolls their sleeves up to write SQL, build ETL jobs, and resolve data quality issues. You will also contribute to the company's internal best-practice frameworks and you will participate in pre-sales work as required.

What you’ll do:

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate working sessions to agree data scope, cleansing rules, transformation logic, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead discovery workshops and requirements-gathering sessions, translating business needs into clear, actionable migration designs.
  • Own the room with clients by presenting technical approaches, managing expectations, and building trust at all levels from data owners to C-suite level stakeholders.

Technical Delivery

  • Produce and maintain source-to-target mapping specifications, data dictionaries, and transformation design documents.
  • Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines using tooling such as Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, or open-source equivalents.
  • Write and optimise SQL for data profiling, extraction, deduplication, cleansing, and validation against legacy source systems.
  • Develop Python (or equivalent) scripts to handle bespoke transformation logic and automation tasks.
  • Execute migration runs, triage failures, and iterate through multiple mock and cutover cycles through to production readiness.
  • Manage file and attachment migration workstreams

Standards & Practice

  • Define and enforce delivery standards across migration workstreams, including testing frameworks, reconciliation reporting, and sign-off processes.
  • Contribute to the company’s internal migration methodology, reusable accelerators, and best-practice documentation.
  • Support Architects during pre-sales activities by scoping migration efforts, producing estimates, and contributing to proposals and client presentations as required.

What you have done:

Technical Experience

  • Delivered multiple end-to-end data migration and ETL projects in complex, multi-system environments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL for legacy data profiling and transformation, and in at least one scripting language (Python preferred) for automation.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise ETL tools: Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, or comparable open-source tooling.
  • Managed high-volume data loads with an understanding of API bulk patterns, rate limits, and governor constraints.

Consulting & Delivery Background

  • Consulting background with exposure to varied clients across multiple industries or verticals.
  • Seen programmes through end-to-end, from initial scoping and workshop facilitation through to UAT, cutover, and post-migration hypercare.
  • Accountable for delivery outcomes on a programme of work or defined workstream, with a track record of hitting milestones in pressured environments.
  • Strong workshopping and facilitation skills; able to engage both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders with equal confidence.

Nice to haves:

General

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM data migrations.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Exposure to data governance frameworks or MDM tooling.
  • Certifications in relevant platforms (e.g. Azure Data Engineer, Informatica).

Legal Sector Migrations

  • Delivered data migrations from or between legal practice management systems, including platforms such as Aderant, Elite 3E, Proclaim, iManage, and MatterSphere.
  • Worked hands-on with legal data structures: matters, clients, parties, time recordings, disbursements, and document/matter histories.
  • Held working knowledge of legal data models such as Nebulaw, or finance/PSA platforms such as Certinia (FinancialForce).

Additional Details:

  • Work Schedule: 1:00pm - 10:00PM
  • Work Setup: Hybrid (once a month)
  • Work Location: Makati or Ortigas
