Job Summary

As a Data Owner - Modeling Senior Associate within the Product Experience and Data Strategy Team, you will play a key role in designing, governing, and evolving enterprise data models that support strategic data products across Product Experience and related business domains. You will bridge business requirements, data architecture, engineering implementation, and governance standards to ensure data assets are structured, scalable, and fit for purpose.

You will partner with data owners, product managers, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to establish consistent definitions for shared concepts, strengthen lineage and metadata, and promote reusable modeling standards across the organization. You will identify gaps, redundancies, and inconsistencies in data structures and help define solutions that improve data quality, interoperability, and discoverability.

Success in this role requires strong data modeling expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex business concepts into conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support enterprise objectives. You will contribute to the development of a governed, reusable, and scalable data ecosystem that enables better decision-making, operational efficiency, and business outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

    • Partner with business, product, and engineering teams to translate requirements into well-defined data structures and specifications.
    • Identify and remediate modeling gaps, redundancies, normalization issues, and architectural inconsistencies.
    • Define and document business entities, attributes, hierarchies, relationships, and data rules.
    • Support authoritative source identification and data sourcing decisions across domains.
    • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure models are implemented effectively within enterprise platforms.
    • Maintain metadata, lineage, and data definitions to improve discoverability and governance.
    • Participate in data quality, governance, and architecture reviews to ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
    • Facilitate working sessions to align stakeholders on data definitions, model designs, and integration requirements.
    • Support the development and maintenance of enterprise taxonomies, reference data structures, and domain models.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

    • Extensive experience developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
    • Demonstrated ability to design, review, and critique entity-relationship models and enterprise data architectures.
    • Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database design principles, including normalization and dimensional modeling techniques.
    • Hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio, or equivalent platforms.
    • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and modern data platforms.
    • Ability to convert complex business requirements into structured, scalable data models.
    • Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage, master data management, and data quality principles.
    • Familiarity with enterprise data governance concepts, including domains, ownership, stewardship, controls, and standards.
    • Experience collaborating with engineering, product, analytics, and business stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Experience documenting modeling standards, definitions, data dictionaries, and business rules.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

    • Experience supporting enterprise-scale data governance and architecture programs.
    • Proficiency in SQL for data validation, troubleshooting, and impact analysis.
    • Hands-on experience with AWS, Databricks, Unity Catalog, or similar cloud data platforms.
    • Experience implementing metadata management, lineage, and cataloging solutions.
    • Familiarity with data product frameworks, domain-driven design, and data mesh principles.
    • Experience with master data management and reference data solutions.
    • Knowledge of industry-standard data modeling methodologies and best practices.
    • Experience supporting cross-functional architecture and governance initiatives in large organization
