Data Performance Engineer

As a Data Performance Engineer, you will help customers maximize the performance of advanced drilling automation systems through meaningful data insights and operational recommendations.
Primary Location: Stavanger, Norway
Additional Location: Kristiansand, Norway
Occasional travel within Norway and internationally may be required.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Analyze drilling and automation data to identify performance trends and optimization opportunities
- Review and validate data from customer drilling automation systems to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Develop clear, insightful performance reports and dashboards using modern data visualization tools
- Work closely with customers to establish KPIs and support operational planning sessions
- Translate complex data into practical recommendations that improve drilling efficiency and equipment performance
- Investigate data anomalies and continuously improve analytical methods
- Support troubleshooting activities by providing data-driven insights to internal teams
- Identify opportunities to improve Performance Center processes, technologies, and customer experience
- Collaborate with engineering, service, and customer teams to drive continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in a related field
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Visio)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex datasets
- Experience creating reports and presenting insights clearly to stakeholders
- Some knowledge of drilling fundamentals and drilling equipment
- Willingness to travel occasionally when required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Norwegian language skills
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, etc.)
- Knowledge of SQL or other programming languages used for data analysisThorough knowledge of Drilling Fundamentals and Equipment
- Experience with Drilling Controls (Amphion, Cyberbase)
- Proficiency in Automation Systems (NOVOS, MMC, etc.)
