Data Platform DevOps Engineer
Summary
Build and maintain scalable, secure customer data APIs using Python, Azure services, and Databricks to power analytics and AI at a fintech company.
As a Data Platform DevOps Engineer, you contribute to the evolution of NN’s Customer Data Platform by building, maintaining, and improving the customer data integrations that power digital channels, analytics, and AI use cases. With your strong engineering mindset, DevOps expertise, and focus on reliability and automation, you ensure that customer data APIs are scalable, secure, and production‑ready.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and improve Customer Data Integration APIs using Python and technologies such as Databricks, Azure Function Apps, and related Azure services.
- Set up and improve Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, release, and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering & Platform team to design and implement end‑to‑end data integration solutions.
- Work closely with engineers across business units and other countries to enable stable, scalable, and well‑documented customer data integrations.
- Translate business and technical requirements into robust, maintainable solutions.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure observability, reliability, and production readiness of APIs.
- Ensure API quality, performance, security, access control, lifecycle management, and cost efficiency.
- Migrate legacy customer data APIs to the new architectural standards of the Customer Data Platform.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a software engineer/developer.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Python, including writing clean, testable, and maintainable code for APIs.
- Experience designing and building APIs and backend services using Python frameworks and libraries.
- Solid understanding of API design principles, versioning, authentication/authorization, and lifecycle management.
- Experience setting up and working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, with a focus on automation, reliability, and reproducibility.
- Familiarity with testing strategies (unit, integration), monitoring, logging, and operational support for production systems.
- Practical experience with Azure services such as Azure Function Apps, Azure Key Vault, and Azure networking and security (VNets, private endpoints, network security groups, firewalls, traffic protection, secure exposure of APIs).
- Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating closely with data engineers, platform teams, and stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn about and work with new and innovative technologies such as Databricks Lakehouse and Databricks Apps.

- Salary between €5,030 and €6,707 based on 40 hours per week, depending on your knowledge and experience.
