Data Platform Engineer, Cloud
Summary
A cloud platform engineer who deploys, administers, and optimizes infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and GCP: managing identity/RBAC, compute, storage, and networking, automating with Terraform, PowerShell, and Python, running Docker/Kubernetes workloads, and handling cost management, monitoring, and critical incident resolution.
- Create and manage users, groups, and service accounts using policies, roles, RBAC, and management units
- Deploy, administer, and maintain Azure, AWS, and GCP solutions across compute, storage, networking, security, and governance
- Automate tasks using PowerShell, CLI, Python, and custom scripts
- Analyze spending and usage trends with billing and cost management tools
- Identify underutilized resources and recommend right-sizing and cost-efficient resource use
- Collaborate with platform teams, developers, project managers, business users, and other stakeholders
- Manage monitoring and alerting tools to detect platform inconsistencies and errors
- Resolve complex and critical incidents and outages, including diagnosis, workarounds, and coordination
- Create and maintain documentation, technical manuals, contingency plans, and operational procedures
Requirements
- +3 years of experience in Azure/AWS/GCP administration
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and services, including resource management, security, networking, and identity services
- Experience with DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines, and tools for automating cloud deployments
- Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and managed container services such as AKS, EKS, GKE, Azure Container Apps, AWS Fargate, and Google Cloud Run
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, as well as command-line and automation tools
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to cloud-based applications
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Azure/AWS/GCP certifications valued
- Additional certifications in Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes or FinOps valued
- Experience deploying or administering Data & Analytics tools valued
