Data Platform Engineer, Financial Institution
Summary
Design, build, and maintain a data platform for a financial institution in Hong Kong using Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and Docker, including ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and PoCs of emerging tools. Requires 3+ years of data platform engineering experience and fluency in English and Chinese.
Our client is a leading Financial Institution. Due to business needs, they are seeking the Data Platform Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain Data Platform using technologies such as Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Kubernetes (K8s), and Docker
Support scalable data architectures, including data lakes, enterprise data marketplaces, and virtualisation solutions
Assist in building, automating, and optimizing end-to-end data processing pipelines (ETL/ELT)
Conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) testing for emerging platform tools and alternative data technologies.
Requirements:
University degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline
At least 3 years of relevant experience in data platform engineering
Proficiency in Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Kubernetes (K8s), and Docker
Exposure in Financial Services sector will be an advantage
Experience operating within hybrid-cloud or enterprise data environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Fluent in English and Chinese
