Data Platform Engineer
Summary
Build and own data models in BigQuery using Dataform for Finance, Retail, Ecommerce and Wholesale reporting at fashion retailer G-Star RAW, including documentation, data quality tests, and cost control, plus hands-on ingestion (Airbyte), infrastructure (Terraform), and orchestration on Kubernetes.
In this role you will design and maintain data models on BigQuery using Dataform to support Finance, Retail, Ecommerce, and Wholesale reporting. You own your models end-to-end, including documentation, data quality tests, and cost management. You collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable data products within a small team where you take ownership. Expect hands-on work with ingestion, infrastructure, and orchestration to enable self-serve analytics.
Verantwoordelijkheden- Build and maintain data models in Dataform on BigQuery from business questions to reportable tables
- Own models: documentation, data quality, and running costs
- Write tests and assertions to catch issues before business users see them
- Control platform costs by measuring impact of changes
- Collaborate with Finance, Retail, Ecommerce and Wholesale to convert reporting needs into clear specs and self-serve data products
- Support platform tooling: ingestion via Airbyte, infrastructure in Terraform, orchestration on Kubernetes
- Three or more years building data pipelines in production
- Strong SQL and ability to explain query cost
- Production cloud data warehouse experience (BigQuery preferred; Snowflake/Databricks acceptable)
- Experience with a transformation framework (Dataform or dbt) and Git habits
