Builds and maintains cloud-based data platforms using Microsoft Fabric and Azure services, ensuring SLA-driven reliability and incident response.
Salary: £91,000 - 91,000 per year
Requirements:- Previous experience in a Data Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer or similar role
- Strong experience supporting and operating cloud-based data platforms
- Commercial experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure data services
- SQL Server administration and management experience
- Experience handling incidents, problem management and change requests within SLA-driven environments
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in complex and fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Desirable: GitHub and GitHub Actions
- Desirable: Terraform and Infrastructure/Platform as Code
- Desirable: Cloud monitoring and observability tooling
- Desirable: Alerting and operational monitoring platforms
- Desirable: Cloud cost management and optimisation
- Desirable: Zero Trust architecture experience
- Develop, maintain and optimise cloud data platform capabilities
- Manage platform performance, capacity and availability
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve platform incidents and service issues
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative measures
- Support the delivery of scalable data solutions across Azure and Microsoft Fabric
- Implement Platform as Code and DataOps best practices
- Monitor platform health and respond proactively to operational issues
- Support analytical workloads and business adoption through Power BI
- Collaborate closely with engineering, architecture and platform teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, standards and procedures
