Data Platform Engineer

Key responsibilities: platform maintenance & development, tooling & developer enablement, operational excellence & governance
Design and maintain the core data platform enabling scalable analytics and data product development with Snowflake and dbt
Develop and evolve the dbt Core development framework, standardizing project structure, macros, and deployment workflows
Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines for data transformation and testing to enhance reliability and deployment efficiency
Build and maintain infrastructure as code for the data platform using (Terraform), managing Snowflake resources and access policies
Create and maintain internal tools and utilities using Python to automate workflows and improve developer productivity
Operate and configure core data tooling across the platform (dbt, Airflow) through automated processes
Produce documentation, templates, and enablement resources to promote engineering best practices
Implement observability solutions for data pipelines, including monitoring, logging, and alerting
Optimize Snowflake performance and manage platform costs by guiding efficient data workflows
Design and implement automated governance controls aligned with organizational security and compliance standards

4+ years of Data Engineering experience
Deep knowledge of Snowflake, including performance optimization, security configuration, and platform administration
Deep understanding of dbt development patterns, including macros, packages, and deployment workflows
Proficiency with Python for automation and development of internal engineering tools
Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (Buildkite)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Ability to design scalable, reliable, and secure data infrastructure
Ability to document technical solutions and promote engineering best practices
Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English
