Data Platform Engineer
Summary
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud data platforms using Azure Databricks, Data Factory, and IaC tools like Terraform to deliver reliable analytics infrastructure.
Scope of Work and Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines, as well as data lake and data warehouse architectures.
- Optimize data workflows for performance and cost-efficiency in cloud environments (e.g., Azure).
- Lead the adoption and implementation of modern data engineering tools and frameworks.

- Monitor and troubleshoot data platform performance and reliability issues to ensure stable operations.
- Collaborate with the product delivery team and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver meaningful insights.
- Actively participate in Agile development processes, including Scrum and Kanban ceremonies.
- Prepare high-level and detailed technical designs for data solutions.
- Apply best practices in coding, testing, and deployment (including CI/CD pipelines).
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in analytics and data engineering, and recommend continuous improvements.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
Relevant Experience and Other Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a platform engineering or software engineering role.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the architecture, design, and development of integrated systems.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
- Proven experience developing microservices for data integration using TypeScript or Python.
- Familiarity with modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Databricks), relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server), and software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
- Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud Services and CI/CD pipelines is preferred.
- Certifications in secure coding, Scrum, or DevOps are a plus.
- Experience working in collaborative teams (five or more members).
- Ability to work effectively with senior executives from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Work Arrangement
- Hybrid setup, requiring on‑site presence three times per week. If the unit requires contractors to report to HQ, compliance is mandatory.
- Work schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Manila Time.
