Data Platform Engineer

Scope of Work and Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines, as well as data lake and data warehouse architectures.


• Optimize data workflows for performance and cost-efficiency in cloud environments (e.g., Azure).


• Lead the adoption and implementation of modern data engineering tools and frameworks.

• Monitor and troubleshoot data platform performance and reliability issues to ensure stable operations.


• Collaborate with the product delivery team and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver meaningful insights.


• Actively participate in Agile development processes, including Scrum and Kanban ceremonies.


• Prepare high-level and detailed technical designs for data solutions.


• Apply best practices in coding, testing, and deployment (including CI/CD pipelines).


• Stay up to date with the latest trends in analytics and data engineering, and recommend continuous improvements.


• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

Relevant Experience and Other Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a platform engineering or software engineering role.


• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the architecture, design, and development of integrated systems.


• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.


• Proven experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).


• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.


• Proven experience developing microservices for data integration using TypeScript or Python.


• Familiarity with modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Databricks), relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server), and software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.


• Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban.


• Experience with Azure DevOps and Azure Cloud Services and CI/CD pipelines is preferred.


• Certifications in secure coding, Scrum, or DevOps are a plus.


• Experience working in collaborative teams (five or more members).


• Ability to work effectively with senior executives from diverse cultural backgrounds.


• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid setup, requiring on‑site presence three times per week. If the unit requires contractors to report to HQ, compliance is mandatory.


• Work schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Manila Time.
