Data Platform & Governance Analyst
Summary
Designs and implements Microsoft Fabric, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps frameworks to modernize enterprise data platforms, while establishing governance, data quality, and stewardship practices for business-critical data assets.
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Platform & Governance Analyst to play a key role in the ongoing maturity and transformation of its enterprise data environment.
This is a highly influential technical role focused on establishing and embedding Microsoft Fabric, CI/CD, Azure DevOps and Microsoft Purview capabilities, while developing robust governance and data quality practices across the organisation.
The Opportunity
You will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise deployment frameworks for Microsoft Fabric assets, including notebooks, data pipelines, lakehouses, semantic models and reporting solutions.
A key component of the role will be establishing repeatable CI/CD and Azure DevOps processes that improve deployment reliability, automation, consistency and operational control across development, test and production environments.
You will also lead the implementation and adoption of Microsoft Purview, strengthening data governance, lineage, stewardship, data quality and business ownership of critical data assets.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated deployment frameworks across the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
- Establish and embed CI/CD, Azure DevOps and release management standards.
- Develop reusable deployment templates, patterns and automation capabilities.
- Support the deployment and governance of Fabric notebooks, pipelines, lakehouses, semantic models and reporting solutions.
- Lead the implementation and configuration of Microsoft Purview.
- Develop data governance, lineage, stewardship and data discovery capabilities.
- Establish data quality contracts, accountability frameworks and issue management processes.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to establish data ownership and stewardship responsibilities.
- Provide technical advice on platform architecture, governance controls and deployment strategies.
- Develop platform standards, documentation and operational procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, platform maturity, governance and operational efficiency.

- Strong experience across Microsoft Fabric and modern data platform environments.
- Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Strong Azure DevOps experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric assets including Data Pipelines, Lakehouses, Notebooks and Semantic Models.
- Practical experience implementing Microsoft Purview and enterprise data governance.
- Understanding of data quality, lineage, stewardship and data ownership frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data platform architecture, security and governance.
- The ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence without formal authority.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on building scalable and sustainable solutions.
