Data Platform Operations Engineer
Summary
Maintains and optimizes enterprise data platforms (MSSQL, Microsoft Fabric) and data pipelines, ensuring reliability and performance while supporting migrations to modern cloud solutions.
We're looking for a Data Platform Operations Engineer that will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise data platforms, ensuring reliable data operations across MSSQL and Microsoft Fabric environments. This role supports platform stability, data pipeline operations, DataOps practices, and migration activities from legacy SQL Server platforms to modern cloud data solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
3–6 years of experience in data platform operations, data engineering, or related technical roles
Hands-on experience supporting production data pipelines and SQL Server-based platforms
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SSIS, SQL Agent, ETL operations, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting
Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services, with willingness to build Fabric expertise
Experience with CI/CD, Git, and DataOps practices
Experience in FMCG, distribution, logistics, or high-volume transactional environments is an advantage
Amenable to work 100% onsite in our office in Banawe, QC.
Technical Skills
Microsoft SQL Server (Required): Instance management, SQL Agent, SSIS, ETL operations, performance tuning, backup/recovery
Microsoft Fabric (Required): OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, Warehouse, Real-Time Intelligence
Azure Services: Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Monitor, Azure DevOps
DevOps/DataOps: Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep/Terraform)
Monitoring & Governance: SQL Server monitoring tools, Azure Monitor, Fabric monitoring, data quality tools, Microsoft Purview
Programming: SQL proficiency; Python scripting and automation knowledge
Nice to Have: Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain data platforms, pipelines, ETL processes, and SQL Server environments
Ensure platform reliability, performance, availability, and SLA compliance
Troubleshoot incidents, pipeline failures, and data quality issues
Support CI/CD deployments, release processes, and DataOps practices
Assist with migration activities from MSSQL to Microsoft Fabric
Maintain platform documentation, monitoring dashboards, and operational standards
Collaborate with data engineers, BI teams, IT, and stakeholders to support business data needs
