We're hiring on behalf of a fast-growing Data & AI consultancy for a Night Shift Technical Support Engineer to join their Managed Services team. You'll be the front line keeping enterprise data platforms and reporting solutions running smoothly overnight - monitoring batch jobs, investigating alerts, and getting failed processes back on track before the business day starts.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a data engineering or production support background who's comfortable working independently under pressure, with a clear path to grow into full Data Engineering and project delivery work.
What You'll Do
- Monitor enterprise data platforms, scheduled pipelines, batch processes and reporting environments overnight
- Investigate production alerts and job failures, performing first-line diagnosis and resolution
- Restart failed jobs and workflows per documented procedures — and troubleshoot independently against tight SLAs when something breaks
- Apply approved fixes and minor corrective changes within scope
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers when needed
- Log and manage tickets through resolution, maintain clear client communication
- Maintain runbooks and support documentation
What You'll Need
- Proven experience with data warehouse batch support, including some hands-on data engineering background
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve failed jobs independently overnight, against tight SLAs
- Strong analytical and methodical troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working solo during unsociable hours while staying connected to a wider team
Nice to Have
- Experience with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Informatica or Power BI
- Experience with ticketing tools (HubSpot, Jira, ServiceNow)
Working Hours
Night hours from 10 p.m. to 7.00 a.m., with a one-hour lunch break.
As part of our Managed Services function, this role will be required to participate in a rota-based
support model, including extended hours, overnight batch monitoring or weekend support, depending on client requirements.
