Your day-to-day / Āu mahi ia te rā:

You'll be at the centre of Lotto NZ's Data, Analytics & AI function, turning business needs into impactful data products and solutions. Working across strategy and delivery, you'll shape the roadmap, prioritise work, and ensure data initiatives deliver real value to the business.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning and prioritising the Data, Analytics & AI product backlog.
  • Leading sprint planning, backlog grooming and Agile ceremonies.
  • Partnering with stakeholders across the business to translate needs into data-driven solutions.
  • Delivering innovative data, analytics and AI capabilities that support strategic goals.
  • Balancing BAU priorities and strategic initiatives across the data portfolio.
  • Collaborating with data specialists, architects and business leaders to drive successful outcomes.
  • Managing risks, dependencies and delivery challenges across projects and initiatives.
  • Communicating roadmaps, insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

Our Data, Analytics & AI team is on a mission to unlock the power of data across Lotto NZ. Working closely with teams right across the business, we deliver insights, data products and AI-driven solutions that support smarter decision-making, better customer experiences and strategic growth.

As our Product Owner, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the team's roadmap, acting as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery. You'll join a collaborative group of data specialists, analysts and technology experts who are passionate about solving complex problems, embracing innovation and creating solutions that make a real impact.

With an exciting pipeline of data, analytics and AI initiatives underway, this is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of how data is used across Lotto NZ while contributing to outcomes that benefit communities throughout Aotearoa.

A bit about you / He kōrero mōu:

As an experienced Product Owner, Delivery Lead or Data Professional, you'll be passionate about delivering solutions that create real business value. You enjoy bringing people together, turning complex challenges into practical outcomes, and working at the intersection of business and technology.

You'll bring:

  • Experience leading the delivery of data, analytics or technology initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong backlog management and Agile delivery skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • The confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels and build trusted relationships across the business.
  • The ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and actionable solutions.
  • A solid understanding of data, analytics, business intelligence and emerging AI capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing risks and removing delivery roadblocks.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and engaging way.
  • A collaborative, hands-on approach and a willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful outcomes that make a real impact.
