Data Protection Officer - Senior
The opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Data Protection Analyst to join our Merchant Services Data Protection team. Based in Europe, you will be part of an international team that includes Data Protection Officers, deputy DPOs, and analysts across the globe. You will report to the MS Data Protection Coordinator and work in close collaboration with local teams to ensure a consistent and effective approach to data privacy. This role offers the chance to contribute directly to our data protection compliance efforts, supporting the team in risk management, awareness-raising, and regulatory adherence across multiple jurisdictions.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Inform and advise colleagues at all levels of the organisation on their obligations under data protection law, local provisions, and internal policies,
- Monitor compliance with data protection laws and internal standards and support the enforcement of relevant policies and regulations,
- Oversee control systems to prevent and deal with GDPR violations by, amongst other things, supporting the roll-out of Worldline’s internal control plan,
- Contribute to the simplification and harmonisation of data protection processes and documentation (e.g., RoPA, assessments, notices) across MS entities including the consolidation and management of transversal product, legal, and compliance documentation (e.g., Service catalogs, notices, terms and conditions),
- Collaborate with relevant teams to monitor changes in products and processes, performing necessary assessments (including Privacy by Design, Legitimate Interest, Transfer Impact, and Data Protection Impact Assessments) to identify and mitigate risks,
- Support the MS Data Protection team with Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), Data Breaches management, and maintaining relationships with Supervisory Authorities,
- Conduct third-party data protection due diligence and support remediation actions.
- Help develop and deliver tailored data protection training to promote a culture of compliance and awareness,
- Provide reporting on data protection trends, innovations in AI, and relevant regulatory developments to support strategic decision-making.
Who are we looking for

• Bring 2–5 years of experience in data protection, compliance, or related fields, ideally within e-commerce, banking, or payments,
• Know your way around GDPR, ePrivacy, AI act and related laws,• Have a good understanding of IT fundamentals and information security basics,
• Can make complex legal and technical concepts understandable for different audiences,
• Are results-focused and proactive,
• Are adaptable, curious, and comfortable navigating different cultures and evolving landscapes,
• Are fluent in English (must-have). Proficiency in French or Dutch is a significant plus.
