Data Science Manager-Commercial

Discussion

Summary

Leads Super's commercial analytics and insights team: turning complex data into strategy for commercial teams, owning the A/B testing and causal inference framework, and developing analysts. Core toolkit is SQL and statistical/experimentation methods, with BI tools (Tableau), Snowflake and Python/R as supporting tech.

We are on a mission to pioneer the world’s next era of play. As we grow across Europe and Latin America, we’re building The Playstack - the technology powering the next generation of sports, gaming, and fan experiences. Join us, and help make it the most widely used platform in the world! From operations, to marketing, to product, we are looking for talented people who will shape how millions of customers play, watch, and connect every day.

At Super, data isn't a support function — it sits at the heart of every major decision we make, with our data insights team operating at the intersection of product, commercial and marketing strategy. As Data Science Manager, you'll lead the analytical function that helps our commercial teams understand what's working, why, and what to do next. You'll own the insights agenda end to end, and what you create will shape strategies across markets and influence decisions at the highest level.

What sets you apart

  • Insight-First Mindset: You don't stop at describing what happened — you dig into why, and you come with a clear point of view on what the business should do about it
  • Experimentation Champion: You treat A/B testing and causal inference as standard practice rather than a nice-to-have, and you build the frameworks that make this scalable across the organisation
  • Commercial Acumen: You understand how analytics connects to business outcomes and can translate complex findings into recommendations that stick with senior stakeholders
  • Talent Developer: You build high-performing analyst teams, setting clear objectives, managing delivery and creating space for growth

What the role involves

Analytics & Insight Delivery

  • Partner with commercial teams to define business strategies grounded in data, analysing complex datasets to detect trends, identify opportunities and surface insights that help business leaders improve their strategies
  • Develop metrics frameworks and insight communications that standardise reporting, define KPIs across markets and inform market priorities, initiative planning and performance reviews

Experimentation & Advanced Analytics

  • Design and own the experimentation framework, using A/B testing and causal inference to ensure key business decisions are backed by rigorous evidence
  • Apply advanced analytical concepts and AI tools to design the right solution for a given business problem — not just the most obvious one — scaling analytical output and embedding smarter ways of working across teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with central Data Engineering, BI and Data Products teams to develop solutions that enable self-service analytics, increase data literacy and free analysts to focus on higher-impact problems
  • Act as the bridge between business requirements and data capabilities, implementing practical, reliable solutions or working cross-functionally to action them

Team Leadership & Development

  • Set clear and compelling objectives for the analytics and insights team you lead, drawing on your understanding of company strategy and the areas you support
  • Prioritise team workload, manage key deliverables and timelines and allocate resource efficiently, whilst promoting a culture of analytical rigour, curiosity and continuous improvement

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field
  • 8+ years' experience in analytics or insights, including at least 2 years in a people management role
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to independently extract, manipulate and analyse large datasets
  • Proven experience using data to influence commercial strategy and presenting findings to senior stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience designing and analysing A/B tests and applying causal or statistical methods
  • Experience developing KPI frameworks and standardising reporting across business areas or markets
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field
  • Familiarity with Tableau or similar BI tools
  • Experience in the betting, gaming or iGaming industry
  • Proficiency in Python or R for analytical work
  • Experience with Snowflake or modern data stack tools
  • Familiarity with AI/ML techniques and their practical business applications
