Data Science Manager

About the Role

We are hiring a Data Science Manager to join a leading global retail organization and lead a growing team of Data Scientists across multiple AI initiatives.

This is a strategic role combining Data Science leadership, commercial thinking, and people management. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their challenges, identify where AI and Machine Learning can create value, and translate those opportunities into practical, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Data Scientists

• Work with business stakeholders to identify high-value AI and analytics opportunities

• Translate business problems into clear Data Science approaches and success metrics

• Provide technical direction across Machine Learning, statistical modelling, optimization, and GenAI

• Review solution designs and challenge modelling assumptions and approaches

• Lead delivery across multiple AI initiatives and manage priorities, risks, and dependencies

• Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations

• Drive continuous improvement in Data Science practices, reusable solutions, and team productivity

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in Data Science, Machine Learning, and statistical modelling

• Previous hands-on experience developing and delivering ML/AI solutions

• people-management experience

• Strong technical judgement and ability to guide and challenge Data Scientists

• Strong commercial or consulting mindset, with the ability to connect AI solutions to measurable business outcomes

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills

• Proactive, independent, and comfortable challenging requirements and proposing solutions

• Cantonese and English communication
