Description

About the role

Smadex is a performance advertising engine for mobile apps, enabling the world's leading marketers to grow across Mobile and Connected TV (CTV). Powered by AI models trained on real campaign outcomes, Smadex delivers profitable growth at scale. Headquartered in Barcelona, with teams across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, Smadex is a business unit of Entravision (NYSE: EVC).

About the Role

As a Data Science Lead, you will bridge the gap between complex big data, strategic business and product decisions. You will lead a talented team of 3 to 5 data analysts, overseeing the analysis of massive programmatic advertising datasets. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality insights to shape your product development..

What you'll do

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of 3-5 data analysts. Own the team's operational workflow, prioritize incoming analytical requests from cross-functional stakeholders, and optimize delivery timelines.
  • Deep-dive into massive, fast-moving RTB datasets to decode auction dynamics, diagnose market fluctuations, and identify revenue opportunities; translate these findings into automated, self-service BI frameworks that democratize data access and eliminate ad-hoc extraction across the business.
  • Define and implement frameworks for peer review, data validation, and documentation. Ensure that all insights, models and custom dashboards delivered by the team meet the highest standards of statistical accuracy.
  • Work directly with Product Management, Data Science, and Engineering as a technical peer to define how performance signals are monitored, and translate complex data trends into actionable product decisions.

Empower Self-Service BI:

Drive the strategy for automated reporting and data democratization, reducing ad-hoc data extraction requests and enabling other teams to make data-driven decisions independently.

What we're looking for

  • Technical degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Data Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in data-heavy analysis or business intelligence roles, with a proven track record in digital advertising or marketplace environments.
  • 3+ years of experience leading, managing, or mentoring a team of data professionals (as a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Manager).
  • Fluency with Big Data: Expert-level mastery of SQL and strong capability to work independently in Python or R notebooks for advanced data manipulation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to synthesize complex technical anomalies or analytical conclusions into clear executive summaries for non-technical stakeholders.

What you'll get

  • Integrate a highly motivated, young and dynamic team
  • Great compensation package
  • Top location at the heart of Barcelona with a rooftop terrace, Barbecue, and a fully stocked fridge
  • Great work-life balance: work from home (2 days per week), flexible hours
  • Meal vouchers - Ticket Restaurant monthly allowance
  • Monthly gym allowance: Choose between DiR and Wellhub
  • LinkedIn Learning and training opportunities
  • Monthly TGIF events
  • Regular team-building events
  • Fun and friendly work environment with talented marketers and engineers from over 40 countries
  • And more!
