Requirements/Accountabilities:

  • Data mining or extracting usable data from valuable data sources.
  • Using machine learning tools to select features, create and optimize classifiers.
  • Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis.
  • Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions.
  • Develop timeseries forecasting models using machine learning algorithm.
  • Developing prediction systems and machine learning algorithms.
  • Building a strong partnerships with sponsors, clients and vendors to validate business flows.
  • Apprising the product owners on delivery status, identify associated delivery risks, dependencies along with detailing and quantifying impacts.
  • Doing investigations related to business flow anomalies.
  • Providing a key interface to the IT team to communicate data patterns possessing.
  • Develop presentations that clearly explain both the data science process and the results to technical and non-technical audiences of project managers, clients, sponsors and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate and document findings in a structured manner

Competency Requirements :

  • Master’s degree in software / computer engineering (Bac+5) or Equivalent experience (asset)
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English / French).
  • 1-2 years work experience in data science (analysis, data mining, time series analysis, machine learning, projections and estimates, business intelligence).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft excels include designing spread sheet models, implementing macros and connecting with external data sources.
  • Database query using SQL, Experience in SAS Enterprise Guide is a plus.
  • Experience in solution development using at least one of the following programming languages: SAS and / OR Python.
  • Knowledge of leading Machine Learning libraries such as PyTorch and TensorFlow (or ability to build Machine Learning models) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pandas, scipy, numpy for data analysis, model building and forecasting in python.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a development team in an Agile organization.
  • Ability to efficiently work in virtual teams during conventional (EST) business hours using conference calls and online conferencing utilities (e.g. WebEx, BETC).
