Description

About The Company

Ampcus Inc. helps organizations build and deliver technology and talent solutions that support evolving business needs. We are seeking a hands-on data and AI professional to help advance enterprise AI measurement and self-service analytics. In this role, you will contribute to a capability that makes AI program performance, adoption, value, cost, and risk easier to understand and act upon.

About The Role

The Data Scientist, AI Metrics & Portal will own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI program metrics, from defining and standardizing measures to implementing, operating, and continuously improving them. This role combines data science, analytics engineering, AI, and application development. You will architect the data and application layers behind a modern AI Metrics Hub, creating a trusted foundation for consistent measurement and accessible insights.

You will help build a metrics catalog, dashboards, and self-service exploration features, including natural-language experiences that let users ask questions and receive relevant visualizations and explanations. Using SQL, Python, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, you will balance rapid delivery with maintainable, extensible solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, AI program leaders, and engineering teams, delivering iteratively in Agile and SAFe environments.

Qualifications

You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related discipline, and typically bring 6–10 or more years of relevant experience in data science, analytics engineering, or a related field. You have owned or contributed substantially to KPI or metrics frameworks across definition, modeling, implementation, and ongoing operation, and have experience building data products, analytics platforms, or measurement systems.

Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and performance optimization, and proficiency in Python are essential. You bring deep knowledge of data modeling, KPI design, data quality, and visualization principles. Experience with large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector search, or semantic query systems is valuable. You have built data-driven applications or APIs and are familiar with backend technologies such as Node.js or FastAPI; React experience is preferred. Familiarity with charting libraries such as ECharts, Recharts, or D3, Databricks, and ETL or data pipeline frameworks is an advantage. You communicate clearly, think systematically, and are comfortable taking ownership in ambiguous, cross-functional environments.

Responsibilities

Define, document, and govern reusable AI metrics spanning adoption, utilization, engagement, business value, ROI, performance, quality, cost, risk, and compliance. Translate business questions into clear metric definitions, calculation logic, dimensional models, and aggregation strategies. Build and maintain SQL- and Python-based transformations and pipelines that integrate data from sources such as logs, APIs, databases, surveys, and risk reviews. Establish validation, monitoring, and performance practices to support reliable data and consistent KPI results.

Design, build, and evolve the AI Metrics Hub, including its metrics registry, configurable execution layer, dashboards, and visualization components. Enable self-service filtering, drill-downs, customizable charts, saved views, and exports. Develop natural-language query workflows and RAG capabilities using metric definitions and contextual metadata, improving query translation, answer accuracy, and usability over time. Maintain architecture diagrams, data lineage, metric specifications, and AI workflow documentation. Participate in SAFe PI planning, shape epics and user stories, and partner with delivery teams to prioritize backlogs and execute sprints. Collaborate across business, AI, data, and platform teams, while preparing for future integration with enterprise platforms such as Databricks and Collibra.
