Zap emphasizes innovative financial products and data-driven decision-making to enhance lending processes. ## Job Summary The Junior Data Scientist will be responsible for building machine learning models, deploying these models, and developing APIs to integrate models into the platform. The role requires a technically sound individual with a strong foundation in data analysis, model development, and deployment, primarily within the lending or fintech domain. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the company's growth by leveraging data insights and advanced analytics. ## Responsibilities - Develop and build machine learning models to support lending and financial decision-making processes. - Deploy models into production environments and build APIs for seamless integration. - Work with SQL, Python, and Snowflake database to extract, analyze, and manipulate data. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. - Ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of data models and analytics solutions. - Maintain and optimize data pipelines and workflows for ongoing model training and deployment. ## Qualifications - **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in **Python**, **SQL**, and experience with **Snowflake** or similar cloud data platforms. - **Model Development:** Hands-on experience in building machine learning models and deploying them. - **Domain Knowledge:** Preferably experience in **fintech**, **lending**, or **consumer tech** sectors. - **Educational Qualifications:** BTech, BSc, MSc, or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields. - **Soft Skills:** Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and effective communication. - **Other Skills:** Familiarity with model APIs, data pipelines, and cloud databases. ## Preferred Skills - Experience with model deployment frameworks and API development. - Knowledge of financial or lending domain-specific data. - Exposure to fintech or NBFC (Non-Banking Financial Company) environments. - Prior experience with Big 4 or MBB consulting firms with a focus on data analysis. - Ability to work in a hybrid setup with flexibility for remote work. ## Experience - 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in data science, data analysis, or related roles. - Experience in building and deploying machine learning models, preferably in fintech or lending domains. ## Environment - Location: Bangalore-based with a hybrid work model (1-2 days WFH, flexible based on need). - Work setting involves collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, innovative fintech environment. - The role may evolve to include a 5-day office presence later, with current flexibility. ## Salary - Target range: **₹14-15 LPA**, with flexibility up to **₹15-18 LPA** for exceptional profiles. - Immediate joiners at higher CTC are encouraged to apply. ## GrowthOpportunities - Potential to advance into senior data science or analytics roles. - Opportunities to lead projects and work on cutting-edge fintech solutions. - Exposure to model deployment, API development, and scalable data infrastructure. ## Benefits - Competitive salary package. - Flexible hybrid work environment. - Opportunity to work in a fast-growing fintech startup with innovative projects. - Exposure to the lending domain and advanced data science techniques.
