AVP – Agentic AI Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking experienced and strategic professionals to join our GenAI Center of Excellence at State Street as Agentic AI Engineers at the AVP level. This opportunity is ideal for technical leaders with a strong background in architecting agentic systems and event-driven platforms. You will lead the definition and implementation of multi-agent workflow patterns, set runtime and SRE/DevOps standards, and partner closely with architects and product owners to shape the future of our agentic AI platform.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture and optimization of advanced multi-agent workflows across platforms, standardizing the use of agent frameworks like LangChain, Langraph, and GoogleADK to ensure scalability and reliability.
Set and enforce runtime, SRE/DevOps, and reliability standards for agentic systems deployed on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
Define A2A protocol and connector sandbox isolation standards across pods.
Collaborate with architects and product owners to translate platform roadmaps into runtime capabilities, optimizing for multi-cloud agentic stack deployments.
Lead technical hiring, coaching, and development of Officers and Senior Associates.
Direct incident response and post-incident reviews for critical runtime issues across cloud platforms.
Oversee documentation, compliance, and performance reviews for enterprise agentic systems.
Drive adoption of emerging technologies and innovative practices in AI system engineering, including leveraging advanced cloud-native services.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8–14 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with a focus on agentic AI, distributed systems, or orchestration platforms.
Proficient in Python and familiar with at least one additional modern programming language (such as Java, Go, or C++).
Demonstrated leadership in architecting and implementing complex agentic or event-driven systems across cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
Deep expertise in A2A protocols, runtime environments, and cloud-native DevOps practices.
Experience establishing technical standards, overseeing compliance, and driving adoption of emerging technologies.
Proven track record in technical mentorship, incident response leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
Familiarity with enterprise security, IAM/RBAC, and sandboxing in cloud environments.
