Job Description\:

As a Data Scientist in the Technology Enablement - Analytics COE Team, you will be joining a new team working on an exciting new project developing Data Science solutions to real life problems within Submarines. You will be working from proof of concept and discovery development lifecycle stages right through to end delivery and through life support.

Core duties\:

• You will be responsible for applying statistical, mathematical and data science techniques to solve operational and business challenges
• You will prepare, cleanse and transform structured and unstructured datasets for analytical use alongside conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities
• You will be developing, testing and refining predictive models and machine learning solutions whilst selecting appropriate analytical and machine learning approaches based on business requirements
• You will be responsible for evaluating model effectiveness using relevant performance metrics and validation techniques
• You will create compelling data visualisations and analytical products that communicate insights clearly and translate technical findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver data-driven solutions
• You will develop and maintain reusable analytical code using best practice programming standards
• You will support the governance, quality and integrity of data used within analytical projects
• You will be contributing to the continuous improvement of analytics and AI capabilities across the organisation

Essential Skills\:

• You will require analytical problem solving experience, with the ability to contribute to statistical analysis projects, predictive modelling and research studies
• You will bring programming and technical capabilities and experiences across Python, SQL, data engineering and data pipelines
• You will require prior experience of communicating technical findings clearly and effectively, while demonstrating a genuine desire to learn, develop and continuously improve
