Data Scientist – Analytics & Insights

Reporting to: Data Scientist Team Lead; Department: Analytics & Insights

We are seeking a driven Data Scientist to optimize and present large data sets to stakeholders, driving performance across Betway’s operations.

Responsibilities

  • Research, develop and apply methods for measuring, analysing and optimising processes and marketing interventions.
  • Identify appropriate models or algorithms to mine large datasets and generate insights into customer behaviour.
  • Extract, analyse and interpret data from a variety of sources.
  • Collaborate with business areas to solve complex problems using mathematical and statistical techniques.
  • Build predictive models with machine learning tools and statistical techniques.
  • Improve data processes and automate manual operations.
  • Use data visualisation tools to present findings clearly to business stakeholders.
  • Provide reports using SQL and analytical practices.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to apply data and models to improve business outcomes.
  • Lead incident investigations to root causes in data pipelines.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Data Analytics experience.
  • Statistical, Actuarial, Applied Mathematics or a related degree.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, reporting and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience managing a data analytics team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, PowerBI, R and/or Python.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Detail‑oriented, organized and able to multitask in a high‑pressure environment.
