Data Scientist Business and Product
Summary
Owns user learning end to end at General Intuition: designing A/B and causal experiments, building analytics instrumentation and KPI reporting, partnering with engineers on telemetry, and informing pricing and business strategy. Core tools include SQL, Python/R, data warehouse tooling, and product analytics/BI platforms.
You will own user learning end to end, including the testing roadmap, analytics instrumentation, data pipelines, KPI reporting, and strategic analysis. You will design experiments, partner with engineers on telemetry, analyze pricing and business opportunities, and communicate data-driven recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze experiments end to end
- Configure test structures and manage a multi-test pipeline
- Conduct causal analysis when clean A/B tests are not possible
- Build analytics instrumentation strategy and KPI reporting
- Partner with front-end engineers to improve telemetry and data scaffolding
- Identify data opportunities that inform strategy
- Communicate data insights, confidence intervals, effect sizes, risks, and tradeoffs
- Contribute data insights to planning and roadmapping
- Inform pricing analysis, including willingness to pay, conjoint analysis, price elasticity, and offer testing
- Support industry and brand thought-leadership analysis
- Inform business and product decisions through analytics and statistical analysis
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing and researching product analytics or a master's degree in statistics or a related field
- Applied statistics knowledge including regression, experimental design, and causal inference
- Experience coordinating with engineers on release cycles in a CI/CD environment
- Experience with event-level consumer-scale data and data warehouse tooling
- Fluency with product analytics platforms or business intelligence tools
- SQL, Python, or R for analysis code
- Communication and storytelling skills
- Ability to manage a roadmap
