DATA SCIENTIST
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA Portfolio Management Office.
Design, build, and implement mathematical, statistical, and algorithmic models to extract actionable insights from large, complex structured and unstructured datasets (Big Data).
Direct major data science programs and research studies supporting critical agency operations, particularly in artificial intelligence, robotics, and autonomy.
Assess current data structures and develop state-of-the-art architecture recommendations to facilitate enterprise data convergence and migration to cloud and edge computing environments.
Serve as a subject matter expert and technical consultant to DISA, DoD, and other senior government officials, using advanced data visualization techniques to present analytical findings and influence strategic decisions.
Partner with the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office and peer organizations to formulate new data theories, publish academic-quality research, and mentor junior team members on modern analytical solutions (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Tableau).
