Data Scientist - Fraud Risk
Summary
Build and maintain fraud-risk dashboards, real-time monitoring, and ML models to balance loss prevention with customer experience for a fintech company.
You will own fraud-risk metrics, dashboards, and reports that support decision-making. You will design real-time monitoring, alerting, predictive models, and risk controls while balancing loss prevention, customer experience, and margins. You will communicate analytical findings and support partners with fraud concerns.
Responsibilities
- Own metrics, dashboards, and reports that inform business strategy and decision-making
- Design and implement real-time monitoring systems for fraud signals and alerting thresholds
- Design, simulate, and implement real-time risk controls using predictive ML models
- Balance risk controls with customer experience, loss savings, and margin improvement
- Partner with go-to-market teams to demonstrate the value of risk controls
- Summarize analytical results for leadership and non-technical stakeholders
- Assist partners with fraud concerns
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with automated fraud-risk strategies, experimentation, and predictive ML models
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining dashboards and fraud-risk metrics
- Quantitative bachelor's degree or higher
