Data Scientist (Independent Contractor)

We are looking for a highly analytical and data-driven Data Scientist to join our team on an Independent Contractor basis. In this role, you will analyze online content related to illegal activities, particularly within regulated industries such as gambling, and help develop intelligent solutions that protect stakeholders, revenue, market share, and player safety.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, categorize, and prioritize online threats using AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze large datasets from various online sources including advertising platforms, social media, forums, and streaming platforms to identify illegal content and activities.
Develop and implement algorithms and models to rank and prioritize threats based on legality, product type, and potential impact.
Utilize machine learning and AI techniques to automate the identification and classification of illegal content.
Communicate findings, trends, and actionable insights to legal, compliance, and business stakeholders.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate data-driven solutions into the platform.
Continuously improve data analysis methodologies and threat detection capabilities by staying updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Support the development and execution of data strategies aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
Experience with data manipulation, data analysis, and machine learning frameworks.
Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Familiarity with online platforms, digital ecosystems, and online threat analysis.
Self-driven, proactive, and passionate about working with data and emerging technologies.
