About the Department

• Franklin Templeton’s AI Platform and AI Investment Group builds shared data, engineering, and artificial intelligence capabilities across investment, distribution, and corporate functions. Small, multidisciplinary agile teams partner with investment professionals, product leaders, engineers, architects, and governance stakeholders. The collaborative, evidence-led environment offers opportunities to build trusted enterprise solutions, influence responsible AI adoption, and expand technical expertise.

How You Will Add Value?

Core Responsibilities

• You will convert business questions into testable hypotheses and research plans.
• You will develop statistical, machine-learning, and Large Language Model solutions.
• You will create rigorous evaluation frameworks for accuracy, groundedness, and reproducibility.
• You will prepare complex datasets and engineer reliable features.
• You will identify bias, leakage, instability, and overfitting.
• You will maintain experiment tracking, documentation, lineage, and change controls.

Strategic Responsibilities

• You will identify valuable artificial intelligence opportunities within systems and workflows.
• You will balance artificial intelligence approaches with traditional solutions.
• You will improve testing, alerting, reviews, and documentation through automation.
• You will evaluate emerging methods against measurable business value.

Team & Collaboration

• You will partner with engineers on deployment, monitoring, and drift detection.
• You will communicate evidence, uncertainty, and limitations to diverse stakeholders.
• You will mentor colleagues and contribute to peer reviews.

What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role?

Experience, Education & Certifications

• Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent Bachelor’s-level education and experience.
• Degree in a quantitative or technical discipline.
• Five or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience delivering models into production or decision-making workflows.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Python and Structured Query Language skills.
• Strong statistics, machine learning, and model-validation expertise.
• Experience with generative artificial intelligence and Large Language Models.
• Retrieval-augmented generation, prompting, agents, and output evaluation.
• Experience with large, imperfect, and complex datasets.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, Machine Learning Operations, and model registries.
• Natural language processing experience is advantageous.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical judgement and structured problem-solving.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Effective collaboration in ambiguous, highly governed environments.

Work Shift Timings - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
