We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Elergone team, and we believe we will be #betterwithyou!

This position will join our Innovation team, in a context strongly focused on the energy transition and the development of digital solutions for photovoltaics, electric mobility, energy storage, energy consulting and intelligent asset management. We are looking for someone capable of designing, developing and operationalising forecasting, optimisation and control solutions, from data processing and model development to their integration into operational services and processes. The challenge involves modelling and optimising energy systems in buildings with PV generation, storage, electric mobility, thermal loads, energy price signals, flexibility markets and load control strategies.

We count on you to…

• Develop models, algorithms and decision-support tools for distributed energy systems;
• Develop end-to-end solutions, from analysis and modelling through to implementation in an operational environment and measurable business impact;
• Model photovoltaic generation, energy storage, electric mobility, consumption, flexible loads and market signals;
• Create optimisation, forecasting and control solutions that contribute to more efficient and intelligent energy management;
• Explore use cases related to energy markets, flexibility markets, demand response and automated asset management;
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to define requirements, design solutions and technically validate new services;
• Turn data, technical knowledge and code into products, metrics and automation with a real impact on the business and on decarbonisation.

So, bring with you…

• A higher education degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or a similar field;
• 2 to 8 years of experience in programming, data analysis, modelling, optimisation or the development of technical solutions, preferably with Python, SQL, databases, APIs or data integration;
• A passion for solving complex problems using code, data and mathematical models, with the ability to move from analysis to prototype and from prototype to an operational solution;
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
• Autonomy, a strong sense of responsibility and a results-oriented mindset;
• A dynamic mindset and the ability to work as part of a team;
• Knowledge of, or strong curiosity about, electrical systems, photovoltaic energy, energy storage, electric mobility, energy markets, flexibility markets or load control is valued;
• Fluency in Portuguese and knowledge of English (preferred).
