Data Scientist
Summary
Data Scientist supporting federal public-sector projects at a Microsoft services provider: building dashboards, ETL pipelines, predictive risk models, and AI/ML-driven insights from unstructured data. Core stack includes Power Platform, Power BI, SQL, R, and Python, on-site in Washington, DC with an active Top-Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Builds, maintains, and improves dashboards, applications, and automations.
- Connects to APIs, system-to-system connections, and manual data transfers for ETL.
- Builds predictive risk models using statistical analysis.
- Applies AI/ML to extract insights from unstructured documentation.
- Develops and carries out full-service data calls, including data normalization and visualization.
- Creates business intelligence analysis and visualizations for management.
- Improves methodologies and tools for risk assessment.
- Researches and recommends business data storage/integration solutions.
- Develops user guides and documentation using Power BI
- Incorporates data science tools (SQL, R, Python, etc.) into services.
Qualifications
- Must have 5 years of work experience
- Strong proficiency with Power Platform, SharePoint, and InfoPath required.
- Experience creating and managing reporting in Power BI
- Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Experience with common data science toolkits (R, Weka, NumPy, MATLAB, etc.) and BI tools (Power BI, Anaconda, SPSS).
- Previous experience connecting to and manipulating data from federal systems preferred.
- Ability to work on site 5 days per week
- An active Top-Secret level clearance is required
