Industry: Government / Public Sector Technology
About the Role:
Join a national-scale robotics platform build as the lead Data Scientist. You will design and build data pipelines and backend services, develop production-ready ML models, and assess data for AI/ML use cases. This role requires close collaboration with data engineers and architects, with knowledge transfer to the internal team as a key deliverable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build data pipelines and backend services for data ingestion, processing, and access.
- Develop and maintain data models and ML models, ensuring production-readiness and alignment with platform use cases.
- Assess available data to form hypotheses for data science and ML use cases.
- Support hypothesis testing across candidate use cases.
- Work with the data team on the analytics layer to ensure outputs are accessible and meaningful.
- Produce documentation covering model development decisions and pipeline design.
- Progressively transfer data science and ML modelling knowledge to the internal team.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in data science.
- Proven experience developing and deploying data models and ML models in production environments at scale.
- Ability to work collaboratively with data engineers on pipeline design, backend services, and analytics layer development.
- Experience with modern data platform tooling (e.g., Databricks or equivalent) on AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
- Must have served as lead data scientist for the majority duration of national or large-scale data platform projects.
- Demonstrated experience delivering comparable projects internationally at city-level or above, beyond Singapore.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with standard IoT and industrial messaging protocols (MQTT, AMQP, OPC-UA).
- Experience with robotics data formats and sensor/field-equipment data streams.
- Experience preparing data infrastructure for GenAI use cases (LLM, RAG workloads).
- Experience building ingestion pipelines for robotics or field-sensor data.
