Data Scientist Specialist
Summary
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of algorithm services—design, deployment, monitoring, and optimization—at P&G's Guangzhou office, focusing on optimization algorithms (linear/mixed-integer programming, heuristics) applied to supply chain, along with Agent Orchestration, CLI solutions, and Generative AI.
Key Responsibilities
Service Ownership and Strategy
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of algorithm services, from design and deployment to monitoring, optimization, and sunset.
- Define and maintain the service roadmap in alignment with business priorities and IT strategy.
- Act as the main point of contact for algorithm-related IT services.
- Ensure algorithm services deliver measurable business value and meet agreed service levels.
Service Delivery and Operations
- Oversee daily operational performance of algorithm services, ensuring availability, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Define, monitor, and report service KPIs, SLAs, and OLAs.
- Coordinate incident, problem, and change management activities related to algorithm services.
- Work with IT operations, data teams, application teams, and infrastructure teams to resolve service issues.
Algorithm Governance and Compliance
- Ensure algorithm services comply with company policies, IT governance standards, data privacy regulations, cybersecurity requirements, and applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
- Support algorithm transparency, explain ability, auditability, and ethical use where applicable.
- Maintain documentation for service architecture, data flows, decision logic, controls, and operational procedures.
- Identify and manage risks related to algorithm performance, bias, data quality, model drift, or service failure.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs, prioritize enhancements, and manage expectations.
- Translate business requirements into service requirements and improvement initiatives.
- Communicate service performance, risks, roadmap updates, and improvement plans to stakeholders.
- Facilitate governance forums, service reviews, and cross-functional working groups.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve algorithm accuracy, efficiency, automation, and user experience.
- Drive optimization initiatives in partnership with data science, engineering, architecture, and operations teams.
- Support adoption of best practices in MLOps, DevOps, ITIL, and service management.
- Manage backlog prioritization for fixes, enhancements, and new capabilities.
Vendor and Partner Management
- Manage third-party vendors or external partners supporting algorithm services.
- Ensure vendor deliverables meet quality, security, compliance, and performance expectations.
- Participate in contract reviews, service reviews, and vendor performance assessments.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), with proficiency in English reading and writing. A background in statistics or computer science is preferred.
- Familiarity with optimization algorithms, including linear programming, mixed-integer programming, and heuristic algorithms as applied in supply chain management.
- Proficiency in Agent Orchestration and CLI solutions.
- Willingness to learn cutting-edge Generative AI technologies and complex agent orchestration.
- Ability to establish operational standards and be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance.
