Data Scientist
Summary
The Data Scientist will leverage Python, SQL, and geospatial tools to analyze data within the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors. The role involves applying machine learning and statistical models to support data-driven decision-making.
Salary: £70,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong Python skills, including pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and matplotlib
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Exposure to geospatial tools such as QGIS, GeoPandas, or similar
- Solid understanding of statistics and machine learning fundamentals
- Interest in renewable energy, power systems, or infrastructure
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Plotly, or Streamlit is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Proactive, curious mindset with a desire to learn and grow
- Build and maintain geospatial screening tools to identify and rank development sites
- Develop energy market models and revenue forecasts for solar and BESS projects
- Create dashboards and automated reporting tools to track performance and pipeline progress
- Work with large, complex datasets, including grid, weather, and project data
- Support engineering teams with power systems analysis and statistical modelling
- Apply machine learning techniques for yield prediction and optimisation
- Contribute to technical reports, planning submissions, and investor materials
