Data Security Engineer
Summary
Design and implement data security policies using tools like Redgate, Varonis, and Symantec DLP to protect sensitive data in enterprise environments.

Strong understanding of:
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls)
- AD, LDAP concepts
- Ability to work with documentation and guided support during builds or upgrades
- Comfort working in regulated environments
- Understanding of network architecture, protocols, and securing network data through traffic analysis, firewalls, and network monitoring tools
- Knowledge of methods for classifying data based on sensitivity, such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII), intellectual property, or financial records, and how to protect it. For Solutions Like REDGATE
- Ability to assess risks related to data loss and identify vulnerable areas where Data Security policies should be enforced.
- Understanding of how data flows within an organization and identifying points where data may be at risk
- Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and work with different departments (legal, compliance, IT)
- Ability to work with third-party vendors to implement or optimize Data Security solutions.
- Data Security Experience: 5 to 7 years.
