Data Security Engineering - Cat 1 Projects - Tier 1 Financial Firm

This role is ideal for a hands-on cybersecurity engineer with deep expertise in designing and implementing enterprise data security solutions. You will play a key role in strengthening the organisation's security architecture by delivering scalable, secure, and resilient data protection capabilities across on-premise and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and enhance enterprise data security and protection solutions.
  • Evaluate and introduce new cybersecurity technologies through proof-of-concept and proof-of-value initiatives.
  • Partner with technology and business stakeholders to deliver secure-by-design solutions aligned with business and security objectives.
  • Develop scalable security operating models, technical documentation, and implementation standards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across enterprise data security, cloud security, and cybersecurity engineering initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Cyber Security or Information Security, preferably within financial services or large enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience implementing enterprise data protection technologies, including:
  • Data discovery, classification and labelling
  • Encryption, masking and tokenisation
  • Key & certificate management / HSM
  • Access controls and secure file transfer
  • Privacy-enhancing technologies
  • Experience securing cloud environments across AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud.
  • Hands-on scripting experience using Python, Java, C# or similar languages, with exposure to REST APIs and JSON.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security technologies such as SIEM, endpoint protection, threat intelligence and incident response.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
