Where your data thinking makes a real differenceEvery day, a large field-based workforce captures information that could improve safety, quality, productivity and decision-making. Right now, much of that data isn’t being used to its full potential.
Our client is a large, well-established organisation with a significant operational footprint. They’re changing how frontline information is captured by moving to digital tools on Microsoft Power Platform. They need an experienced Data Solution Architect to design how that data flows, connects and creates value across the business.
Why this one stands out
This is a chance to set the foundations rather than maintain someone else’s design. The organisation has a solid data framework built around corporate data. Your challenge is to scale it so it supports operational data in a way that’s well governed, connected to core systems and built for reuse.
The patterns, models and standards you put in place will become the blueprint for how the organisation manages operational data from now on. You’ll be the go-to voice on data within a committed project team, working with specialists across security, governance, integration and analytics on decisions that really count.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the end-to-end data architecture, from capture and integration through to storage, governance, reporting and analytics
- Defining reusable patterns for accessing authoritative data from core enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM and HR systems
- Shaping data models, relationships and shared attributes so data is consistent and easy to use across the business
- Setting clear integration, security and analytical patterns that fit enterprise standards
- Identifying risks, dependencies and interim solutions, and mapping a clear path for transition and handover
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or Data Solution Architect in a complex enterprise environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Python, PySpark/Spark and SQL
- Solid background in data warehousing and dimensional modelling, with a good grasp of canonical models and data governance
- Experience with Azure DevOps and the wider Microsoft data ecosystem. Power Platform / Dataverse experience is highly regarded.
- The ability to balance big-picture thinking with practical, deliverable design
- Clear communication and the confidence to bring a wide range of stakeholders with you
- Experience in an asset-intensive or field-based industry is an advantage, but not essential
- 6-month initial contract, starting early December
- Christchurch
